No sign tracker firing up yet---maybe a slight lie in? , but another great day yesterday

GO STEVE
....after the `tarte de pommes`, and  fortified by a couple of shots of limoncellos,  I flew up the Col de Bavella whilst thunderstorms rolled around the peaks above

It looks as though we are in for a couple of days of north-easterly winds.

Good luck Steve!

Straight as a die at the heart of down-town Peterborough. Another long-spoon manoeuvre coming up?
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

New tactic, no messing about going NE with a purpose. Main roads all the way, A45 and 605, rarely quiet roads I would never ride personally.

Yes, those roads are interesting.

He's got a great average speed though.
It is simpler than it looks.

TG is used to that sort of road - I think he is trying to take advantage of the traffic, seeing as he has a bit of a headwind.

Definitely looks like the slightly warmer days and more daylight is helping him to up his speed.

It's not that warm today. The temperature has crept up to 7°C so far.

"A bit of a headwind" is an understatement! I'm just back in after a short ride, and the 10 miles outbound into that wind was like a blast freezer brrrrrrrr!!

Yes, I'm just back after 60km into that headwind (and then a thankful 60km with it behind me). It's bloody cold and hard work.

I have come off the sea wall to my lunch stop at the Fox & Hounds, Tillingham. I have had the treat of some unexpected sunshine but the wind is cold. It was SE at first but changed to NE. I'm looking forward to my Balti - the chef is putting an extra chilli in it. Incidentally, the Fox & Hounds is where we had lunch during WARTY III, the occasion of Jane nicking Steve's chip.

Doesn't look like it and, unusually for a Saturday, there is no calender entry for an over night stay, so ones assumes not.
Did a bit of work this morning, and it was a lovely morning....got damn parky now though.
Go Steve!

Looks like he turned around at what would have been about 100 real miles (as opposed to tracker miles)
I've been out doing stuff this morning and I really didn't enjoy to into the wind bits.  But 100 miles of it?
That boy has mental fortitude.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Tracker showing 146 miles already so looks good for another 200+ day.  Rock n Roll Steve.
