Axe Review

Thanks for that. Just as I was thinking to get a Stihl one at about half the price of the GB. I think I'll renew my efforts at being given one for Xmas.

Still not convinced by the lever axe, especially not at €190, I don't get many perfect rounds (the guy I share a pre-split woodpile yet tends to get to those first).

Nice use of a land rover, my Transporter van is pretty good at taking a good load too ;-)

First proper use of my Gransfors splitting maul. I really like it, although I think if I learn how to use it properly, it will cost even less effort to split.

I actually do think it's three times better than my Screwfix special. Same log: belt with Screwfix special: axe just bounces back off. Belt with Gransfors: axe head goes in the wood and creates a crack.

I was splitting frozen, seasoned ash. I had to use the chainsaw on the tricky bits.
