That's a manky idea...

Following with interest, also convincing me the slight thought of buying a dooer up is a bad idea, I'd get as far as half painting the lobby press.

Some - any outside walls in rooms will be covered with stud walls and insulated but some of the fire places and inside walls will be left as features.

Got a lot to update - went on holiday in October and got busy in other ways so haven't spent much time 'on the web'.

That game seems broken. No mention of what to do if Kevin McCloud says "light" and "space" in the same sentence.

It's simply unsafe to drink that much.

Doesn't mention partner buggering off because they are fed up with all the money and attention going on the bloody house.

My studio build ground to a halt a few weeks ago when I ran out of supplies. How is your place coming along (since the October photos), Ian?

Was just about to have the roof replaced but all stopped because of the lockdown. Stripped everything out and had the damp-proof course and wood treated.

Keep meaning to post more pictures but procrastination winning.

Gosh, it's starting to look like a home! Was you heating not going to be pellet stove or ASHP or something equally sustainable? Hope you get your heating sorted out satisfactorily, what happened there?

Air source with thermal solar panels. The contractor lost his (microgeneration certification scheme) registration so we are ineligible for the Energy Scotland loan and renewable heat incentive payments on completion. He also took a 25% payment off us '3 weeks prior to installation of the heat pump' in June and he hasn't replied to e-mails or been back to the cottage since - despite a number of attempts to contact him.

Oh that is crap. Hope it gets resolved without much stress.

Did you get your timber bought before the insane price increases? I paid £60 for a sheet of crappy ply a few weeks back. Getting ridiculous.

Unfortunately, no. Supply time has also impacted. Going well over budget :(

Oh that's rotten. Can you take him to small claims court or something? To me losing your MCS is a bit of a breach of contract. Wonder what happened for them to lose that. Hope you can get a new contractor who can tick all the HES and RHI boxes.

Trying arbitration as first step.
