Functional neurological disorder

I know there are some people looking into this as a diagnosis on the forum and thought this might be useful.  Even to take along to a medical appointment to discuss.

Thanks! That was a very interesting read. I am supporting a few students with FND of various types and have a few friends with it as well. Each person experiences quite different apparent presentations although at least two have significant mental ill health stuff ranging from bipolar or PTSD through to anxiety going on.

It's one of those conditions which shows us really how closely linked psychological and physiological function are and that it's not as simple as "wellbeing" and needs more coherent and holistic approaches to be reasonably tackled.

My job is to work with the students on the impact on academic study, but it is still helpful to have a wider perspective and see the correlations and so on. I don't get training on conditions, that's all self-taught by reading and listening to people's reported lived experiences.
