Cyclist mugged London Fields

From the Hackney LCC email- be careful out there, someone had a man thump them and try to nick their bike, broad daylight, screams and dog walkers saw him off.

That 14 year old stabbed was attacked by "The Fields" gang- kids on BMX bikes from round London Fields.

Wasn't a Dun Runner mugged for their bike back in 2006?

Sadly, I don't think bike muggings are that uncommon. (That is children/people being mugged for their bikes, not the bikes doing the muggings).

Was this recent? ie in the last two months?  As I have a few friends in the area, used to live near Broadway market, and they have mentioned hearing about people being mugged for topend mountain and road bikes as well as wallets.  My friends have mentioned it a few times over the last six months but could be the same one just been heard by several people.
