The Torygraph is claiming the same thing on the grounds that it's unusually nippy for the time of year in Siberia.

See?  No such thing as global warming! ;)

Hurricane Patricia sure is getting turned on by those warm El Nino waters  :o.

I really am not enjoying this current weather. It's as damp as a usual autumn and so grey but with the warmth of an Indian summer. I hope it changes cos if it stays like this all winter it's going to be horrible. Grey, muggy, damp, mouldy and probably unrideably windy.

The last time we had a November like this my rose started budding again. It didn't get a chance to flower coz it snowed, and the wind turned to the east. And stayed that way 'til the following April. The ice on the ground didn't disappear 'til March. I really hope we're not in for another one of those.

According to the Whitehaven News website , today's forcast is 'Spotty Showers'. Sounds far nicer than Scattered showers for some reason :)

Are you trying to get a weather thread moved to POBI?

I appear to have committed to riding 78km into a 28mph headwind tomorrow. Over the fens.

Note: I am not teethgrinder, there may be tears before  bedtime beertime.

Looks like Egremont is getting very wet. I wonder what it'll be like when I try to get home tomorrow  :-\

Windy today. Our 0.5-timbered house works like a ship in the hard gusts.  Had a good sway just now.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Had an 15" dia fully loaded plant pot blown over  last night.

Think it's been a bit wet round here -

I ended up doing a detour on the way home this morning as the A66 is shut because of a landslide. At one point I had to turn around as a fast flowing river a good 20m wide and 3+m deep was flowing over what's usually the road to Uldale! Borrowdale was completely cut off this morning.

Egremont has not flooded as feared, but the river is very high.

Last night saw the lowest November temperature since I started keeping records five years ago, and only the third November frost. -1.1 deg C according to the machine on the roof.

Nothing much here yet - rime up on the forest ridge behind the house, everything pale grey.  Might take a toddle later.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Had to scrape the car windscreen coming home from a gig last night. -1ºC at half-past midnight.

No frost here but the varsity* have salted all their roads.

It has snowed overnight the last 2 nights here.  I wore my winter cycling tights for the first time this year today.  I was too hot, so they obviously require sub-zero temperatures.

Frost down here in Slough last night and the bottom is supost to fall out of the thermometer tonight as well ☺

It certainly is. You can tell how windy it is cos yr.no says 'near gale'.
Yr.no are the masters of windy understatement. Yr.no says 'breath of an angel' when I say too feckin windy to cycle!
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.
