kick stand onna trike?

Yesterday I joined a group of cycle campers for a ride, one of whom was on a Pashley trike.

When we stopped for a break I noticed that the trike had a kick stand. Checking out the Pashley site reveals that it's a standard feature. Any one any idea why?  ???

Exactly... Trikes have a habit of rolling off on their own. Quicker and easier though is a velcro cinch strap around the brake lever

In the case of the Tri-1, maybe it's to keep your chainring out of the muck when you fold it.

That could be it.

I'd dismissed the parking brake idea as there was already a device on one of the brake cables that held the brake on.
