About a year ago the council were reviewing speed limits as part of a Scottish Government directive. At that time a draft report was prepared which sought to maintain the Coupar Angus road as a 50mph limit. For those familiar with Dundee, this is the A923 as it winds it's way up past Camperdown Park.
The guidelines were reviewed and argumetns presented as to why this was not acceptable andsubsequently the report was withdrawn and modified.
Next week the speed limits will be formally reduced to 40mph.
