RwGPS claims he's not live logging. Has he given up on the 24 hour?

He stopped, we congratulated him, rode off to the Underground, ran onto the platform as our last possible train pulled up. Wins all round.

When I lived on Green Lanes in the mid-80s it was known as the Green Line, after the one in Beirut.
I lived just off Green Lanes 1957-67 being at school there during the time it was the front line of the 1963/4 Cypriot troubles

Still was when I lived there; the Greek Cypriot yoof used to come down from Highbury and smash up Turkish Cypriot shops.  And, for all I know, vice-versa.

We rang our cowbells at some guy in an aero helmet on Col du Manor House. He looked very confused.

We didn’t smash up any shops.

He stopped...

Can't blame after that effort  :)

So, to confirm - he's broken the record? By how much?
And given up on the 24hour?

Either way, bloody impressive.

It looks like he got E-L by around five minutes (exact time to be confirmed) and he stopped at that point.

Provisional new RRA record - Edinburgh to London in 17.42.47

It is impossible to know where to start when thanking everyone for the what they have done to help us achieve this goal. Helen was amazing as always, running the top support crew in the business, but the sheer number of people out by the roadside totally blew my mind.

Coming through from Huntingdon to Royston I had assumed it was no longer going to happen, I was mentally writing my assembly on failure for after half term. But then the A10 from Royston to the M25 was like nothing I have ever experienced in all my years cycling, people cheering from every layby and every bridge all the way in. Cowbells, whistles and shouts pulling me out of my gloom and back to the positive place that I need to be in.

Those people made me find something inside that I didn't have and my 32kph turned into 38kph. Thank you everyone - I will try to write more later, but for now I am pretty broken!

Wow !!!   Incredible stuff. Chapeau. (Though that doesn't really do the achievement justice.)
