Android music player - with out ads
« on: 04 August, 2022, 06:37:32 pm »
More and more I am buying albums via bandcamp or direct band album download.

Bandcamp is a lousy player, you can't create and save playlists for one thing.

So I'd like a music player that:
Enables creation of and saving playlists.
Works with downloaded files
Doesn't require a network connection to function.

There are hundreds on the play store, but sorting through them is ugh.

I'm using VLC, which is frequently unintuitive but can play FLAC, because sorting through them is ugh.

Ive used Neutron for the last few years.

https://neutroncode.com/

Its sounds good and supports playlists. No adds or anything (at least in the paid for version)
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Poweramp.  Used it for years - free version for a couple then paid for the unlocker, so has cost me about 50p per year do far

Very customisable - good sound and graphics.  Does everything I need.

Another vote for Musicolet.  Does all you ask and all I need, no ads as it's running not connected to the web when playing.

Vanilla Music. Free/open source, pretty simple and lightweight.
