There's a vehicle parked in a lamp post about a mile from here, just after the Sacriston RAB on the A691. I saw the folks in hi-vis cutting the remains of the post down, earlier today.

No prizes for guessing the marque.

From that article Ask the Police state : -

"In some areas the zigzag lines are accompanied by a traffic regulation order which does make it an offence to park there. There will be signs to indicate this at the location."

What ??

Surely parking on zig-zag lines is an offence. I've never seen any signs explaining whether they are legally enforceable or not.

You read the article far more thoroughly than I did! I agree though, the presence of zig-zags is in itself a prohibition of parking (and stopping to eg pick up passengers).

The polis from that particular van were attending an incident where a man died after a tree fell on his vehicle.

Not so much parked as pinned to the spot in Aberdeenshire.

I take great exception to that. The fud car is an early Mk IV Sprite, of which I have one (and in that colour no less). We never park like that.

The owner could deliberately be stopping the bloated plutocrat with the Rolls-Royce from returning to his dark satanic mill to oppress the working class some more.

This was a suboptimal way of aligning the roof top solar panels with the low winter sun.

Yes, all by itself.  I know Unimogs are crammed to the gills with hi-tech, er, technology but I didn’t think even Space Karen's cars could do that ^^^^ yet.

I've seen this image so many times, but I just realized now that the white Volkswagen was parked on the pavement. Does this qualifies for this thread, or was it an acceptable parking method in London at that time?

Looks like the other cars on the left are parked partly on the pavement too.  In some parts of That London this is actually mandatory, such as in some of the back streets near Larrington Towers.

Its legit on some streets, such as this one, around here.
But some people blatantly take the piss.
If you trace a line straight down the photo from the badge on the boot lid, you can see the faintest remains of white paint, which is as far on the pavement as their nearside wheel should be.
It's not even as if this is a narrow road.
I think you'd struggle to get a wheelchair or pushchair through there.
