It's a gorgeous day!

It really is a gorgeous day!

Now apart from a bike ride with obligatory tea & cake stop, what else can I do?

Breathe the air, feel the sun on your back and your serotonin levels rise.  About this time of year, I change from a mardy old bat into a content and happy person, who only very rarely feels the need to strangle errant motons or idiot colleagues.

And remember - it's not long before we can once again sing...

Hooray, hooray,
the first of May!
Outdoor sex begins today!

Tell that to the two dogs blocking the bike path this morning - nothing like getting an early start in I guess!

But with 7 dog years to each man/woman year, the 1st of May (doggy) occurs on the 19th of January (waits for Greenbank or PColbeck to prove this wrong).

2nd day of Full time commuting across the Fens, low mist hovering just above the newly sown fields, Sun a Red Ball poking out from the reamins of low clouds, the pheasants that escaped armaggedon running across the road.

No wind ( unsusual in these parts )

No tractor rage.

What, like this?

It is indeed a fine day out there, which was somewhat spoiled by getting to work and sitting in front of a computer at my desk, rather than being out in the sun.  Still, it was a very nice commute.

Yay for the sun, it beats wind and rain any day!
Actually, it is rocket science.

I thought I was the only person who still used that one.  I got it from Chris Tarrant's lunchtime show on Capital Radio, circa 1984.

It's warm here, but murky and dark.  Just like the Land of Mordor.

Having been pointed at this thread following Charlotte's comment, I've just played Wowbagger Jonathan Coulton's delightful track (NSFW) on the subject.

"Pseuds corner"(tm) comes to yACF.

I had one of those perfect cycling moments last week, it was a lot like today.
I didn't want to let it go.

I woke up after a full 8 hours sleep, called into work and said I was running late, they were ok about it, had a shower and then jumped on my bike and rode into work the long way around. Glorious weather, cool and sunny. I stopped at the cash point outside the uni and got loadsa smiles and "nice bike" comments, oh and one number lol. I rode up through the city and even the couriers smiled and nodded.

Got into work a few minutes ago and was handed an ice cream. Days don't get much better!

After a sunny ride on the bike, sat in the garden with the cats, watched the birds, relaxed and read.

I've been off the bike since a fall on ice in January when I smashed my back on the corner of a paving slab.

I've just got back after a wonderful 15 mile pootle through the lanes  :)  planning to commute tomorrow.

It's been fingerless gloves for a couple of weeks, and no jacket and a short sleeved jersey for the commute home.  I might be in shorts tomorrow!  8)

Sadly, I think there's the possibility of snow flurries in the South-East country-wide on Sunday.  :(
