Lovely pictures, Jaded - especially the third. Is that a cormorant in the middle one? It looks a little un-crucifix-like, so maybe a Greater Black Backed Gull?

Thanks, anyway! We had an absolute belter here in the NW yesterday but I couldn't find the camera!

Here is a different frame of the bird, I was focussed on the islands in the distance. Looks gull like to me!

I think we get cormorants and shags here.

Yep - gull, ok! Latin name translates as "Silhouette Gull"....
