A bit more obvious in this bigger droplet a few feet away. The leaf appears to be trapped inside.

I have no explanation for this, from an industrial estate in Coventry.

I think that I just saw this on the TV from the Platinum Jubilee parade. It was behind the Lady Godiva puppet from Coventry.

There was an enormous female puppet on a low-loader causing everyone to slow down and gawp on the M25 yesterday, but happily she disappeared onto the M4.  I think that might have been Lady G.  She certainly had her kit off, the brass husky brazen hussy.

There's a house here where I assume they don't get on with their neighbours.  They have that gnome on their fence mooning at them.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

On the opposite bank of a local riverside walk, private gardens slope down to the riverbank. One house has a gnome flashing his coat open....

From a ride last week:

It's a kind of gourd. Couldn't put that on FB because gourde is the equivalent of the English dumb cow.

Yebbut a gourd in French is a courge, which has no negative or offensive meaning. A gourde is basically a water container made from the stomach of a dead animal, but some people use it for any water container. For the reason you mention, I hate when local cyclists use gourde for a water bottle. I can't resist the urge to tell them No, it's not a gourde, it's a bidon!

Just saw this.  Yes, it may also be that.  https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gourde  I have no problems with gourde meaning bidon, it's figurative and as old as the hills.

A chum used to have a Haitian banknote with a pic of Papa Doc on it, surmounting the legend "Une Gourde".

One from yesterday's ride:

There's an old gatehouse off to one side and nothing but a clearing in the forest beyond.

J, I've only just noticed this!  It's beautiful and made me think instantly of a poem The Railway Children by Seamus Heaney - do you know it?  I think you'd appreciate it!

We used to throw stones at the telegraph wires, because on the rare occasions that we hit one the zing! would shoot away either side.  There was never any visible damage. The railway was disused, too, so no chance of hitting a train.

There used to be signs up threatening fines of 40 shillings for trespass on railway property. Wish I'd nicked one, it'd be grand to have now.  Couldn't reach them though.

Spent an awful lot of my youth playing on railway lines!  There were trains on them in those days, too!
