Work - Dell generic something, 3.3GHz, 4GB RAM, Windows 10 from new, very fast and lovely :)

Home - Samsung NC110 netbook which was 'free' with a mobile broadband deal in 2012. Cheap and feels like it. Constantly on its last legs. I've had to remap some of the keys as they've fallen off to maintain a full alphabet. Expecting it to die any week now...

Old X200 Thinkpad running OpenBSD.

P8600  @ 2.40GHz
2GB DDR2 Ram

Does the job for what I need.

Thinkpad 520 i7 8 core with 16Gb of RAM, ad SSD and a spinning rust hard drive.
Inbuilt Intel graphics card and a Nvidia graphics chip. I never use the Nvidia one as the drivers are a bit meh and I dont do graphics intensive stuff.

Base OS Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Corporate stuff is Windows 8.1 PRO run as a VM in VirtualBox

Its big and heavy and the PSU is like a brick but I'm fond of it.
Its the minimum spec to run some of the Cisco VMs I need to play with.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Huge tower ex gaming machine built in 2008

Athlon 64 x2 dual core 4200 GHz
4 Gb Ram
Geforce GT 610 graphics
OS on SSD
Data on 1 TB HDD
Ubuntu 18.10
2 x Displays

Does everything I ask of it, which doesn't include games.  I'd upgrade it but it's hard to get good ATX Mboards now and I want to keep the huge case.

Home is c2017 retina iMac. Apparently a 3.2 GHz i5 processor if you care (I mostly don't) and 24 GB RAM (because it was on special offer).

Work is a similar era Macbook Pro with a 2.7 GHz i5 and 8 GB.

I don't really get excited by computers, they're mechanisms for doing something else, but I'm a happy customer.

Nor me. I don't even know what processor is in mine* despite only owning it a couple of months (although I do know it's an i5). I'm more impressed by the fact that it's slim and feather-light and the fact that I can connect it to my monitor and everything else with just one cable but without being into the "dongle for everything" hell that is fruit machines, XPSs and the like. I can also run the OS of my choice, which is Linux Mint (v19.1 Cinnamon).

15" macbook pro from 2014, 2.5Ghz i7, 16GB ram.  It does photoshop, lightroom, imovie... everything I need.  Grumbles a bit if I try and do it all together.   And temping fate, but I don't *think* it's ever crashe|

Whatever my daughter has chucked out recently (except that some are not so recent) because it bugs, crashes or otherwise refuses to respond to her (sometimes unreasonable) demands. This one is an HP Pavilion G series with some sort of an AMD processor, a big screen, a 120gb SSD and an unauthentic Windows7 ('cos we replaced the old hd which went west). This one alsp runs a live Linux (Puppy) off a CD sometimes. The case is melted, the screen is held on by one hinge but I like it (and try to stop it breaking up any further).

The other laptop is another HP (not a clue offhand what the model is or the processor for that matter). 500gb hd, W10. She gave it to me as part of a deal where I bought her a new Asus laptop. The W10 crashed and blue screened and had to be reset to factory config. It still sulks from time to time. I hate W10 but so far I have not managed to get into the boot settings to boot a CD so it stays. Not a much loved laptop! (but much used all the same).

The tower which runs the printer is a pc recovered in a flat clean-out and otherwise destined for the tip. I think it is an Acer, probably some sort of Intel processor, 4gb ram, 1tb hd, running a bizarre W10 with Office, Nero etc and no user account (just User!). If ever it bugs it will get Linux but for now it behaves, albeit a bit slow. I think it might be a W10 upgrade when MS were offering them for W8 and 8.1 boxes

Ditto I think. And there's a 2013'ish iMac that my wife uses, plus the iPad Air, which probably gets more use than the others put together.

Work is an HP Elitebook i7 Win10. It works.

Totally maxed-out MacBook Air 11" (final generation, 8GB/512GB SSD/i7).

Funny how little difference I find it in use from the 15 inch retina MacBook Pro it replaced.

My work computer is a newish Mac laptop. Powerful enough but I wouldn’t spend my own money on something with a keyboard that crap, and the dongles are just a scam.
At home, I use a tablet for this. I have an ageing Mac mini, that I’d like to replace ... but camera and bike compete for the money too.

This one's a barebones from Novatech running Linux Mint 17.  Intel Core i5 and 8GB of RAM.  It's about 5 years old but it doesn't feel slow.  Unless you play a lot of games, PCs can last a long time before they start to get too sluggish.

Primary desktop: 2009 vintage Mac Pro, upgraded to 3.33 six-core, 32GB RAM, 275GB SSD on a PCIe card (faster than onboard slots), 3GB HD for storage, RX 580 & GT 120 graphics, USB 3.0 card. Running High Sierra. Should run Windows 10 as well, but has refused to do so for over a year, for reasons I have been unable to fathom. Still have my 2006 2.66 dual dual-core MP as backup.
Laptop: 2009 MacBook, 2GHz Core 2 Duo. Rather creaky at startup, but still works OK apart from that.

Just built a new one. Now setting it up, and installing everything required, and copying my stuff across.

Shuttle XPC SH370R6 barebones
Intel Core i5 9600K
Crucial 2x8GB RAM
Crucial P1 500GB M.2 SSD
Western Digital Blue 4TB

The on-board graphics and sound seems good enough for now. Just need to move the TV card from the old box. And the DVD drive if I can be bothered.
