BHF Oxford to Cambridge
« on: 25 September, 2013, 11:17:49 pm »
CET Junior and I are doing this.  After a couple of years of 100k Audaxes he's pushing the boat out to 140km for this BHF organised event.  Had to get special permission from the organisers as he's 2 years under the minimum age limit.  Please wish him and his (hopefully not needed) turbo boost provider luck on Sunday  :)

What a nice event.  Mostly quiet roads, no nasty hills, the worst was the gradual climb up through Great Brickhill.  CET Junior was fantastic - no need for turbo boost.  Left Oxford at 7.15am from the Iffley Road stadium where Roger Bannister ran the first four minute mile, and arrived in Cambridge 15:45 in time to get the bus back we had booked at 16:30.  Could have done without the headwinds, but found excellent little sandwich bar in Gamlingay for our final sustenance.
