Lost tools, where do they go?

Large flathead screwdriver
Largish Phillips screwdriver
10mm spanner.

(I reckon that Pingu eats them, but that's between you & me)

Prisoner at the bar; you stand accused of nomming screwdrivers.  How do you plead?

I know where the Inlaw Paw's 25cm steel rule is: I inadvertently boxed it inside a window-frame, 30 years ago.   :-[

Do you still have the window frame? Just need to wait for the next refurb

Not going to happen.  It wasn't so much the window itself as the surround, which is part & parcel of my built-in 7-metre bookcase.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

I have a wooden carpentry mallet that was retrieved when we moved a few months ago and took out the bookcases behind which it had lived for 20 years (my father-in-law had dropped it into the void in a corner)  ... it had dried out and had to be soaked for the head to fit the tapered shaft.   I now have 2 mallets in my toolbox!

Why do all the kids bikes have suspension! Looking for a bike for the beastie and although I managed to gee her big sister a non rubbish non isla/frog bike without front suspension all the ones I can see and or afford have suspension which just adds to the already excesive weight.

This is probably why when you specifically instruct non-cyclist parents that suspension that doesn't cost hundreds of pounds just makes the bike heavier for no benefit, they go and buy one with it anyway.

I dunno, I did 100km plus of Londons finest roads on a very rigid hybrid the other weekend, and my wrists and hands would have thanked anyone for a kilo or two of front-fork suspension.

Back when our club had a cycling school the kids mostly turned up on 16kg full-sus supermarket BSOs.  Imagine a poor wee 8-year-old trying to get one of those up a muddy hill in the forest.

What size are you after? I have a 20 or 24” wheeled ridgeback that’s ready for passing on. Probably a “girl’s” bike, but not ostentatiously so; Dylan was happy to ride it for a couple of years (though he wouldn’t have been overly bothered about the intended sex of the rider). It’s a lovely purple, 24 gears, mudguards.
Drop me a pm if interested.

Jesus wept!  Just relaxing with a cuppa after a strenuous dog-wrestling session (vet's vaccination visit) and the knuckle-dragger across the road starts up a 100 dB strimmer.  I hope his goldfish die.

Came back on Saturday evening – post-hike. Still enough lingering warmth to enjoy a beer on the patio or balcony.

Or rather, inhale the fumes from someone's bonfire that had cloaked the entire neighbourhood with acrid smoke. So instead we had to retreat indoors and close the windows.

^  sounds like you are sorted, otherwise Argos does a 20" Elswick sans suspension (I still have my 24" wheel Elswick, lovely bike)
Or there's Puky but a bit pricier.

Trying to record a video all morning. First attempt, phone call half-way. Silence phone. Second attempt, phone call on landline. Third attempt, Alexa offers impromptu un-help (mute microphone). Fourth attempt, ding dong goes the courier at the door. Ding dong again. Unplug doorbell. Fifth attempt, ominous soundtrack of thunder. Wait for it to go. Sixth attempt, goes perfectly, finally it's a wrap.

Except, when I minimize the full screen there's an error-reporter telling me the recording app had crashed.

Yeah, I could edit the audio, but for a 10-minute spiel that ought to be more effort than it's worth. Ought.

1. It's 20 to 4 and I'm still waiting for the document you were supposed to have finished at 12.
2. The thing that makes this worthy of a rant, if ICBA; while waiting, obviously, I made a cup of tea. And the tea bag burst. GAAAAAAH!

The document has arrived, over four and a half hours late. And it's written in US English when UK English was specifically asked for.  >:(

I send everything back like that! The great thing about electronic tea stains is they don't show.

90 minutes of IT "helpdesk" starting at 5pm, downloaded all the drivers that were already up to date and achieved nothing, before I diplomatically pointed out the time and suggested they try round two tomorrow

I still can't read an adobe acrobat doc without zooming to about 150%, everything is just blurry otherwise
