Ahh, but you've forgotten to factor in the time to walk to the post office, find it's closed because they're working reduced hours, walk back to the office, walk down the next morning, wait in the queue for an hour (or two) then there's the time taken to catch up on the local news with Mrs Miggens behind the counter who you haven't seen for oooooh at least 36 hours and then you've got to walk back to the office and after all that hard work you really need a cup of tea which means you have to pop* out to the corner shop for some milk because you've run out....  it all costs you know.  :)

Nope.  The clouds are there but the water's staying up.  The farmers must feel like Jean de Florette.

When I lead the panzers down Whitehall and install myself as Emperor of The Known Universe, one of my first decrees will be to ban electric scooters.

Or if someone can persuade me to be lenient, decree that anyone wishing to use one on My Highways can do so only if they are dressed in day-glo pink leotards and bunny slippers. :demon:

Aldi's milk bottles: pick them up by the neck and the top pops off. Pick them up by the top and you feel the bottle preparing to part company.

Ten terrible toes.

My nightmare is that I click the wrong button on the internet and my screen fills with an infinite number of foot fetish porn site windows.

Birkenstocks would do it too.

I once uploaded a photo to Flickr.  The subject was my elegantly-besandalled feet in the sun-dappled waters of the infant Colorado.  Some creepy oddball foot weirdo noticed.  You can guess the rest.

On a visit to Michigan last year Was in Ann Arbor. There they have a large student population, and electric scooters for hire, which are rideable on the sidewalks. You’d have loved it.

Meanwhile to my grumble. We have new neighbours, as of yesterday. The grandparents are over to “help”. He’s using a fucking garden vacuum, and has been for the last 20 minutes. Now, the neighbour the other side (we have a 3m wide garden) has got got his fucking strimmer out. I may have mentioned I hate fucking garden machinery.

ETA: An hour on and he’s still fucking vacuuming the patio. It’s almost as bad as the previous incumbent who spent 4 hours one sunny bank holiday pressure washing it!

I walked down to the shops yesterday in my Birkenstocks.......   I've now got blisters & raw flesh on the soles of my feet  :jurek:      I used to spend so much time barefoot in the dojo that they were like leather, but that was 20 years ago.  Ouch , ouch !

Oh, how I wish people would train their dogs properly. Our new neighbour's two black labradors are generally peaceful enough, but show them a lead, and they bark the place down  >:(

Will you be giving up on Land Rover products as a certain Durham Deviant drives one?  😉

Barky dogs in general, but worse the sort that charge the fence of the property as you walk by. On our regular Sunday perambulations, there's two places that let their dogs roam like this. They can't get through the fence (but you don't know this the first time), but the dogs are going crazy and they're not little dogs, they're giant, slathering hell beasts. As an adult, if you're not expecting them, it's a bit of a shock. But it must be terrifying for little kids.

I'm honestly befuddled why people think shit like that is OK.

I don't consider his to be a "real" Land Rover.

That said, finding one is proving diffiult at the moment. I may have to settle for a "comfy" LR (The Horror :o)  or soemthig like a Ford Ranger, which is really an Isuzu

Sure, it can make you jump, but it's a dog's duty to defend its pack.  Ours only rarely bark, though, because when they're out so are we and they leave barking to the boss unless other dogs go by.  If a cat comes into the garden they're dead silent, but bloody hell they're fast. The cats always have too good a start, though.

People across the village from us have geese. Now they're surprising.
