Rico is in the university vet hospital on a drip because he's dehydrated- not been well for a few days, not eating much and vomiting. I'm hoping his blood come back as a gastrointestinal upset rather than pancreatitis or anything worse. It's only a few weeks since he gave blood trying to save Kiri, so the poor cat has been having a rough time of it

Flat ouf on the sofa. A whole day in the garden including fighting with the evil lawnmower plus two walks and she is completr#y knackered,

A new one, eating in her sleep. Flat out on the sofa then she started chewing and licking her lips. She had a jumbone today which is a rarebtrwat so that was probably it. I have seen her running and growling in her sleep before but this is the first time for eating.

Wandering around the garden. squeaking her Wubba. I can hear her through the open patio doors and the squeaks get louder and softer dependant on where she is in the garden. I bet the neighbours are loving it.

Flynn, one of my cockatiels and me are waiting to see the vet. He's got a runny bum, and a swollen inflamed vent.

Hopefully i won't need to be posting in the pet bad news thread.

Flynn is now hopefully feeling less sorry for himself. Vet diagnosed inflamed vent caused by the diarrhoea - vet was unsure of what could have caused the runny bum, but has prescribed oral antibiotics (0.03ml of baytril, twice a day for 7 days), and sudocreme for his wee bum.

Just now by the parrot's cage I started humming and clapping my hands in rhythm. He started bobbing up and down as he usually does then paused, watched my hands intently for a couple of beats then started again, in perfect time but with two beats to my one. Clever old bird.

Snoozing on her bed. Its her birthday and she is one. We took her to Filey amd walked on the beach to Hummnaby Gap and back and she ran and ran. Now she is completely pooped out.

Google is sleeping off one of the most traumatic days of his life yesterday. He endured his 2 hour grooming session only to come home and be terrified firstly by hail stones and then thunder and lightening. He tried to hide in the fridge when Simon opened it

Tilly is looking pleased with herself and burping a bit. She found a dead rabbit on her walk and kept just out of reach until she had eaten all of it other than the back legs. Luckily this one was quite fresh unlike some of the others she has found. He recall is pretty good now but when she has a rabbit it there is no getting her back until she has finished with it.

Nursing a swollen paw and feeling sorry for himself.

Vet has administered pain killing and antibiotic injections and his pads are somewhat less inflamed than earlier today

For the last 2-3 weeks our parrot has not been talking. He produces jungley whistles, and looks and behaves otherwise normally, but it's as if he had suddenly either forgotten all his acquired sounds, or else had problems in his vocal tract/syrinx.

Anyway, while we were getting the 4 o'clock coffee just now he produced a very creditable imitation of a fart, and we are delighted.

Ninkasi spent a good 10-15mins earlier stalking a slater which was out of reach between the carpet edge and the new front of the chimney breast. Then it ran up behind the adjacent skirting board which is sitting about a cm off the wall.
About half an hour later Pumpkin finds it out in the middle of the floor and eats it.
Ninkasi goes to investigate and is somewhat nonplussed
