Both cats are spending the day sleeping indoors.
It's cold and wet out there.
I think that's a wise choice.

Having a rest after chasing a hare from one side of a 100 acre field to another. She's convinced that one day she will catch one but unlike next doors lurchers I think its doubtful.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Being very old.

I have been away since Friday and he did not get up to welcome me when I came in this afternoon.

Displeased David last night.
Brought in a dead mouse and played with it shortly after David had buried another dead mouse.
It was 2am. We wanted to go to bed.
David is squeamish.
I told him that this is what cats DO...

For a moment I was confused and thought that this was the ”what are you doing.....” thread and thought that you were making a confession ;D

I was 'having kittens' giggling at David's reaction to the Dead Mice.  :demon: ;D

Blackie has made a brief appearance today; Big Tom is out.
I think.

Barking at horses.

They're trotting up the lane behind the house, which is separated from our garden by a hedge and a small field. He can't see them but he can hear (and probably smell) them.

This is a regular occurrence on days when the sun is out.

We introduced our dog to horses at an early age.  She's totally cool with them.  Same thing with bicycles,  which was important as we lived on a sustrans route.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

My parents' house backed onto a bridleway.  One of the cats would occasionally bark (well, that ridiculous chirping thing they do) at horses.  The other was sensibly terrified of them.  They didn't really have an opinion on bicycles, other than as a source of oily gunk to get covered in when exploring the garage.

Our dog Google has a very special relationship with Rory, one of our cats. Rory usually starts things by rubbing himself lovingly on Google, who them gets excited and starts to hump him.
I was checking our outdoor camera footage for signs of foxes last night and caught them at it on camera on the lawn

Waiting for David to come downstairs for breakfast.
Blackie is on the brown armchair, Big Tom is on the sofa. These locations are favoured but not always chosen.
Blackie is only dozing. Big Tom might be sleeping.
My breakfast preparation has not been silent.
Methinks the cats will spring into action when David comes down.
They like David...

Not a lot. MillyCat passed away a few weeks ago after a short illness. I'm left rather heartbroken. I miss that little munchkin.

Thank you both. The house feels very empty.

I went for a walk with a friend, whe deliberately walked me to. Point where she knew a stray cat lived. I'm now going every night to feed said kitty, althoug I think a local lady is going to take him in.

Snoring and farting to prove that, unlike Gerry Ford, they can do two things at the same time.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

She (Bella, cat) is on her way to the emergency vet  :-[. Not sure what’s wrong with her, but she spent half the morning walking round in circles, ignoring her crunchies. Then I put some more wet food down which she ate, and then went upstairs. Two hours later, she was trying to come downstairs but was too uncoordinated, and I found she’d vomited all today’s food up, and, most worryingly, defecated on my wife’s desk - she’s never defecated indoors before and rarely goes on the desk unless my wife is working there and the cats hungry. She is fairly elderly, at least 17... she was a rescue cat so no one really knows.

Edit: Diagnosis is a brain tumour or stroke - in the space of 5 hours she’s gone blind and deaf. She also has a heart condition. She’ll be home a little  later, so we can put her to rest in the garden she loved.  :'(
