Padless cycle shorts

Has anyone got any recomendations for shorts without a pad in.
When riding the recumbent on long rides, there's nothing to hold the pad in place and I find it rubs the top of my legs, which means I'm walking like a cowboy for a week trying to keep my trousers away from the sore bits.
Rich.

Better quality padded shorts, or unpick them, or runners shorts? I used to go for unpadded shorts on the bent, but they're actually better padded. Keeps the tackle warm innit.

I tried two different varieties of running shorts, but they just dint work proper. So I upgraded from cheapo Decathlon shorts to, er, more expensive ones and al is now Jim, and indeed Bob, Dandy.

I hate that chafing. I get it a lot due to my

big thighs

I've used the under shorts that Halfords sell (and still do - I think). In fact, they used to be my cycling shorts until someone pointed out to me that they were (essentially) underpants.
They work though.
