Care of grapevines

Have very productive grapevines in the garden - is it best to remove the grapes (there are a lot on there, still, some of which are clearly decaying) or can they be left to nature without harm to next year's growth?

We were treated to home-made grape juice, made from home-grown grapes at a concert a fortnight ago. It was lovely. I'm not sure where in the Home Counties rhe grapes had grown.

I took off a lot of well-past-it grapes today and did a general tidy up. From my internet perusals it seems that early next year is the time for the pruning proper.

Just need some sunshine between now and the end of September  ???

Anyone have any advice on making your own wine ?
Where to buy a kit / any recommendations as to what equipment can be used for brewing ( is that the correct term ! )
