At one point last year (for 2018 values of last year) I noticed that someone had emptied their dog in front of the sign...

Not really sure whether this is sensible or silly: the advice is sensible, but a postbox seems a silly place for it:

At about this time of year some say you could usefully store your bananas in a bag with unripe tomatoes.

I didn't realise until recently you weren't supposed to store taters with onions.

Leads to earlier sprouting, apparently. Since keeping mine apart I would say the taters are sprouting much less quickly. OTOH it is now also autumn and not summer so not exactly a controlled experiment.

Polite signs in Nuwara Eliya town gardens, Sri Lanka.

Photo taken during a most welcome midday apres luncheon (rice and curry) walk about, December 2007.

Whilst returning from the still ravaged post tsunami east coast, overland in an NGO flagged pick up truck with bum breaking 'shot' suspension. Leaving behind the dying embers of a most indecent uncivil war
