Garmin 705 pop up directions stopping after 50km

I am being driven mad by Garmin 705 gpx file pop up directions stopping after 50km or so.I'm left to follow the highlighted pink track on the OpenStreetMap gmapsupp mapping after that. When I selected the track on the 705 and applied the navigate function at home the following day I found all the missing directions listed for the whole route.Do I have to relaoad my gpx track every 50km to keep displaying gpx file pop up directions?I do not want to concentrate on looking at my current position on an electronic map but just be reminded of when I need to make a turn.I do use MapSource Filter function to reduce the number of track points(what's the limit for the 705?) so that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Use gpxx if yu can, theres then no need to reduce track points.
It is simpler than it looks.
