Ah!

I thought it may have meant something else when Pendleberries were involved.

Can't decide whether to drop my chain ring down from a 54 to 53 on the ElliptiGO. I don't think it going to make that much difference if I did and would prefer the extra speed on flatter (are there any!?)/sections.

Colleague informs me that the climb in or out of Robin Hood Bay is the steepest public road in UK!! :-0

Remember.  Audax routes are advisory, and intrepid randonneurs can plot their own way to such roads  8)

Although there will be plenty of lumps to entertain the Pendlistas, without the need to drop in an F-Bomb.

The control is at the Cafe at the top fortunately, so unless you fancy dipping your front wheel in the water in a C2C stylee, which seemed like a good idea last time until I actually got there and saw how steep the road was and I had already had my fill of steep roads by then.

Less than 2% difference, so neither here nor there either way I would have thought.  How do eliptigo's work gearing wise?  Single chainring and wide range cassette?

The one I saw on the May as Well Solstice seemed to have one chainring and a hub gear

Switch to list view Icon top right with horizontal lines. Double click the link then click download. It should be in your downloads folder

If you want the whole track that I posted, just click on the Export tab top right and you'll get what you want. No need to sign in.

As far as I know this GPX track works on a Garmin 800 if you just want to follow the purple line. It may not give you turn by turn or any other stuff, it may not work on any other device either and you use it at your own risk etc, etc.

Peejay - yes an alfina 11 speed hub. I upgraded my GO from the 8 speed. To be honest I think the 8 speed is a much better built hub. The 11 can be quite temperamental and skip around the gears if not aligned exactly right because they are so close together.

IM AT THE BURNEY TRAVEL LODGE RIGHT NOW. 5:30 PM. ANYONE ELSE HERE??? thinking of popping across to the Grill bar Kenanks for FOOD!

Hopefully it's in your Carradice (or your excercise bike equivalent  ;) in readiness for the onset of a severe attack of Pendleberries

37 riders started at 06:00 am this morning.

The weather forecast was for very poor weather. It was drizzling when most set-off but fined up soon afterwards. If the rain holds off, which it has done so far, the riders will be riding in near perfect conditions. No wind and not too hot/cold. I'll be catching up with them all at Langwathby tonight.

I finished with 20 mins to spare, followed by the Hackney bunch.

Had a horrid splendid time with 13 hours of rain......I think, although my memory is somewhat vague, so don't rely on that (It felt like 13 hours anyway).

Ended up sleeping on the floor in the heated upstairs stock room of Hexam Pizza House and Home for The Unwashed for 2 hours, along with some other vagrant types.

Nice ride, with some great scenery.

Legs don't work.

Edit: Highlights

Got buzzed by a Hercules coming over Wrynose Pass and watched car comedy, as a loon tried to ascend Hardknott Pass in his ageing Hymer Mobil,  accompanied by much squealing of tyres, blocked traffic and disapproving stares from pensioners on tour.

I made it.  That one is the toughest on the current Audax calender.

What I do know is that at about 7:50pm last night 10 riders had made it back, 7 had abandoned, leaving 20 out on the road.
