My girlfriend said to me, completely unprompted, "I want to try riding a tandem" I swear I never brought the subject up before.

My sister got out and met up with friends today, after a terrible morning where she threatened to do neither.

Superstoker came on a walk with us.  Not very far, but enough that I escaped suburbia for the first time in ages.  Tea & cake in Oaks Park on the way home.

Boy dun good.

I see that food was involved....  I wonder whether that had anything to do with it?   ;)

Claud my Marathon Plus shod Claud Butler MTB is absolutely filthy, which means he is being ridden by me and we're having much fun together.  This makes me happy.

He'll get a clean in the spring when bridle paths stop being muddy and the roads aren't covered in crud.

I'm at work today.
My next day at work will be the 5th January 2009.

I also be staying as far away from computers in that period.

I'll send a postcard from here though.

:)

Back home with some 1200 photos and a lot more memories.

Buenos Aires, day trip to Colonia in Uruguay, down to Videma, 18 hour overnight Tren Patagonico to Bariloche, Ruta de los Siete Lagos to San Martin de los Andes, over the border to Chile and Puerto Montt, a 72 hour ferry down through the Fjords past a glacier or two and round the bottom of the Andes to Puerta Natales, 2 marathons worth of trekking in 5 days in Torres del Paine National Park (just do a Google Image search), Ushuaia (the southern most city in the world), back up to Punta Arenas, up to Santiago for a few days, back into Argentina and Mendoza wine country, Cordoba, Posadas and the Jesuit Misiones, Puerto Iguazu and the Garganta del Diablo (another Google Image search) from both Argentinian and Brazilian sides, back to Buenos Aires and home.

I've seen snow, glaciers, 6000m+ high mountains, 40 degree heat and 100% humidity, 4 countries, swum in the Pacific and Atlantic, and various lakes containing icebergs, seen a 2.7km wide set of waterfalls, dolphins, penguins, caiman, condors, 2 football matches (including the play-off final of the Argentinian season) and lots and lots of bonkers scenery.

It's chilly back home but I like that.

Had a picture from yesterday's time trial published (p4 of today's Courier for Taysidians). Lots of space as well, more than half a page high and two columns wide.

But why do they not put cycle photos under sport?

It's well-known that cycling is not a sport. Neither are Scotsmen very good at it. ;)

Finally got my Christmas present (Acer Aspire One) netbook wifi working.

I now have a small light laptop for mobile web access.

Two days and it is finally working. However why the method used caused it to start working  ???
