Did you go home to get a trailer or were you able to stuff it into a saddlebag?  ;D

Something similar was dumped by a bus stop near here a few years ago.

Obviously not.  If I had the post would have been in the, "I carried this on my bike." thread.  ;)

A BT 746 rotary telephone (GPO poo colour) lying at the side of the road with some fly-tipped mattress wreckage.  If it hadn't been thoroughly rained on I might have gone back with sufficient luggage to recover it.

On Stowe Road, a climb I detest though maybe not quite so much in future:

Obviously? Bah! You have just destroyed my vision of you, cruising the lanes on your pink steed seeking out lost items to repurpose :'(

slightly ot, but you all love it really, was driving down A2/M2 to Rochester, to work  (refurbishing an old terraced house) when I spied a ROLL of loft insulation on the  hard shoulder, so I pulled over and backed up, only to find there were 4 whole rolls ,  saves me buying some, looked in wickes  and  100mm is £20 a roll.. :o    ;D

Not on my ride (I was walking), but someone else's I presume: a copy of "South East Mountainbiking, Ridgeway & Chilterns" by Nick Cotton. Wrapped in a clear plastic bag so largely dry and usable. Found on the bridleway which runs N-S through the Wormsley estate near Ibstone/Stokenchurch, one of my favourite rides.

I should probably mention last week's jerry-can of diesel.  Better than the traditional pouring of it on the road, anyway.

Do you think it might have bounced off a rider's bike?

That should have been handed over to the dibble for forensics.
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

actually it was  a sort of napkin thing, only printed on one side, and a  sort of fluffy material.

I only noticed it because it was flashing. A most useful addition to the illuminations on one's velocipede, what!

Screwdriver, pozidrive, long.

As it was on the road next to a parked maintenance van, I opted to position it prominently on the driver-side windscreen wiper rather than swipe it.

Also found lying in the road:  Important bits of my chain.   :-[

It's all relative, I suppose.  In this case it was the PowerLink that was jettisoned (onto some PowerLink-coloured tarmac on approach to a zebra crossing), and I was rather pleased to track down all the bits rather than having to shorten anything or deploy the spare.

This will be because I cleaned (read: restored bendiness of) the chain the day before and had obviously neglected to put it back together properly.
