Indeed. Hence "sourdough" in my last post.

Most crumpet recipes do include a good pinch of bicarb though.

Adding Coffee to stout/porter, because you aren't capable of getting decent rich flavours without it. That's a crime, right there.

It's be OK to use supermarket coffee, it's rubbish anyway.
