GN- A youngster came into the shop yesterday, riding his Olmo road bike which I sold him as a PX a few months ago. Much like this one but with the DT shifters. he was off out for a ride dressed in his colour coordinated Saxo Tinkoff/ Tinkoff Saxo kit. The bike was a bit big for him when he bought it (saddle slammed as far down as it would go) but there was post showing yesterday

BN- I may have ruined his young life.

GN: Last night a very lovely young lady who I've known for two or three years decided we should get married, and told me so quite forcefully.

BN: She's four.

GN: I'm still flattered though.

Bad Noos: Virgin(hah!) Active removed £200 from my bank account they should not have done. Boo!!!

More Bad: Even after speaking to them they do nothing. They can't be @rsed to answer my mails. Booo!!!

Good Noos: Getting a direct debit back is really, really easy. Phone up the bank, tell them it was taken wrongly and you get the money back within the day. Yayyy!!!

Bad news: I just smashed the glass shelf in the fridge-freezer
Good news: I smashed it before I washed it rather than after, the product number of the fridge-freezer is on a label inside it rather than on the back/underneath, and Zanussi have replacements in stock. Teh appliance of SCIENCE.

GN: Mrs. Wow and I have now completed all three tax returns and submitted them.

BN: We will have to go through it all again next year.

GN: I got my watch repaired and had a new strap fitted, and only had to pay for the strap.

BN: It stopped again this afternoon.

The only GN connected with tax returns for me is that they no longer have debtors' prison.

My work is going to Scottie Land once more, so that has to be close to my poor, languishing scottie-land bike doesn't it? Huzzah!

They're not that far apart.  That said, weather may not be condusive to a bike ride, but there's always the train.

GN: I have managed not only my first bike rides of this year, but my first solo rides, and my first rides on consecutive days.

BN: My back doesn't half know about it! Think I need to adjust the position of the Jones bars (I have brought the Orange down to Swansea with me)

Bah: The bulb has gone in the Great Hall's standard lamp
Hurrah: Here are some spare bulbs
Hurrah: They were free
Bah: They are the low-energy ones sent to me by $ENERGY_SUPPLIER
Bah: And they are bayonet fitting, and thus completely fucking useless

GN:  #2 Son got two ninterviews this week.
BN:  In Cardiff.
GN:  He got a phone call this afternoon.  WINNER!
BN:  Cardiff.

This is GN/BN from my perspective.
8 Years ago he moved out and got his own flat in Llandysul.  5 year ago he moved down to Carmarthen ( via a few months in Ferryside)

Now off to Cardiff.  Where several of his Carmarthen mates have already gone and have a room in a house waiting for him.
I'm really going to miss him.

Onwards and upwards, son.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

BN: the TC tip fell out of my £17 450mm masonry bit

GN: Screwfix replaced it without argument.

BN: The first time I used the part-worn (from another bike) cartridge type brake blocks which replaced the worn out standard ones yesterday, I almost went over the handlebars.

GN-Off to Twickenham tomorrow.
BN-Taking customers* with me, so have to be well behaved.

Who just informed me that they had reduced their order for a key product. Why do I bother???

I have done. I thought that I had bought 4 tickets, 3 of them plus me.
Tickets arrived yesterday and I had 5 , so when their e-mail arrived ,I offered the spare one to daughter's boyfriend.

Good news: Rode the bike for the first time since surgery 21/2 weeks ago.  :D
Bad news: Don't tell Mrs W, coz I'm not supposed to ride for another 3 weeks.  ::-)
Good news: Nothing went Twang!
Bad news: I couldn't catch Teethgrinder.

...actually that last one is probably good news, because, having not riden for a few months and wearing drainpipe jeans & a big fleece I shouldn't have been able to catch him on the fixie.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

Good News: Tárrega’s Recuerdos de la Alhambra. I swore to myself I would learn to play this (on a guitar obviously, rather than on the kazoo or the bagpipe) by my 40th birthday and now I can!

Bad News: That’s an overrun of about 17 years.

In my defence I would note that I tend to restrict my practice to the ten minutes or so that I have spare in the morning before leaving to catch the train to work, so my regime tends to follow the monkey/typewriter model. However, recent timetable changes have increased the time available for practice by about 35% allowing this great leap forward.

Actually, I have learnt to play other things in the meantime although sadly this piece appears  now to have over written them, leaving me a one hit wonder.
