Good news: it's a lovely day and I have my 3 kids at home with me.

Bad news: I have to wait in for a bike to be collected. Any time between now and 6pm.

Good news: Rotherham United finally move away from the Don Valley Stadium (Sheffield) & back to a new stadium in Rotherham today with a friendly against Barnsley.

Bad news: I won't be there  :(

New York Stadium . Looks effing brilliant

Grumble - Amazing that they could find the money/land for the football ground that "didn't exist" when the rugby club were trying to do the same (and we were in the Premiership)

Looks like a nice ground :) - Just hope the wind isn't blowing from the NW during matches straight over Blackburn Meadows

Tony Stewart probably wasn't interested in the rugby club at the time. The Millers were still at Millmoor then & got grant funding for the new stand & scoreboard etc that the RFU insisted be in place if the Titans were to be allowed to sully their elite division with their presence
Bingo! That's what I am, a saviour.

Good news: It looks like my boss has succeeded in getting me an extra increment on my pay (aka pay rise - first proper one I've ever had)

Not so good news: This might have been agreed in the hope we'll not push for our job to be graded at what we actually do (grade 7 like half the team) and the level we're currently working at.

Ah well I shall gladly accept the payrise and keep pushing for the regrade cos I can prove competency in SPADES.

Good News: I got my boat out on the water for the first time in months yesterday.

Good news: I had a (very short) ride on a 'road bike': Reynolds 725 frame, carbon fork, fewer spokes on both wheels than my hybrid has in one, supermodel tyres - I loved it! And the shop wot's selling it is discounting it by over a hundred quid...

Bad news: The price is still four figures.

That's my usual response to credit card and overdraft limit extensions. Sort of thing which is useful to have in moderation for events like moving house where you get cash flow shortages but otherwise am not stupid enough to spend it.

Good news:  Just finished work for a long weekend away.

Bad news: Just got text from colleague saying we can't finish this without you.

As I was supposed to be off today as well but came in today to help out I may relocate to the rant thread!

You are not. Many are. My credit limit will be about 40% of my gross annual income. I have my NHS pension and benefits. Getting anywhere near my credit limit would be very scary...

I've just worked out my credit is also 40% of my gross income as well - that's quite scary!

I used to get letters telling me mine had been raised every 6 months ago (to which I responded the same as you) - however a few years ago I got a letter telling me they'd noticed I wasn't "taking advantage" of it, so they'd slashed it! Hasn't been raised since...

I've made a big purchase recently and used it to pay a balance to the double glazing folks a few months ago.
I don't think my payments to 18185 would influence it (about £4 bimonthly, direct debit)...

If I add up the credit limit of all my cards, it's about 400% of my total annual income! It makes online shopping while drunk a very risky business

Good news: Today's rainy ride confirms that my bar bag is waterproof.

Bad news: Only from the top. Rain and spray soaks into the sides and bottom making the contents soggy from the bottom up.

Good news: There's a new extension to the cycle path under construction, under the M4 past Westerleigh rail head up towards Yate.

Bad news: Although it's not yet finished, it's already crap for cycling.

Yes, those bars are wide - 59cm - but many MTBs and almost all 'cruisers' have wider. And that's not all - I even had to squeeze my shoulders in to get through the barrier! I feel a grink to South Glos Council in the making.

Why don't councils just put a single bollard in the middle any more? ::-)

Good News: I'm watching the Australia-Argentina hockey match I intended to this morning.

Bad News: I'm watching it on TV not live as I didn't wake up for my alarm at 3am so didn't make it to London :'(
