Hmm, odd. It does say 119 on the mycyclinglog site, but the ticker in my sig line says 117.

I'm not sure what cache you're suggesting I clear?

Well, I was thinking of your browser cache assuming the issue was on the website, but that wouldn't help if it's the sig line.

*turns on sigs*
I see what you mean.

Either :
Don't panic, the ticker is being updated less often than it used to be so it can take a few hours for the results to show. Wait for then next update and it should be there.
or some dodgy rounding on the web service for the ticker?  But it's difficult to see how it could end up that far out, since it says you're at 73 miles if you change the unit option.  Quite probably, when my maths is working.  It says 73 miles if you call with units as mi.  That converted to km is likely to round to 117.

Maybe it's a conversion error - I'm entering distances in km, perhaps the site is converting them into miles to add them up and then back again for the display?

If it stays at 2km all year I'm not bothered, but I don't think I can afford to lose 2km each ride! But then again, what the hell, it's only a bit of fun really. It's the smiles not the miles.  :)

Mycyclinglog in miles units shows 73.94 miles.  Truncate that and get 73 miles.  Convert back up and get 117km.

Politely seek out the ticker coder, or live with small non-accumulating error?

My charge has entered his first 6 miles for YACF :D. I bought him a cateye velo 5 for Christmas and he's really enjoying knowing how far he rides . His school is 2.75 miles but at the moment he only does it in one direction. If I get my transport sorted out he'll be able to do 5.5 miles 2 or 3 times a week which is not bad for 7 :).

I'm keeping him off the forum as long as I can. The parental control on his computer should help! Although if he manages to find it unlocked and make himself an administrator again he might find the forum before he changes all the other settings, who knows? ;D

I have started to use this website now as well. I have to agree with Wowbagger that it offers so much more features than Bikejournal. I will still log my miles on Bikejournal as well, as I have 6 years worth of rides on it.

Disappointinly still unable to register, despite multiple attempts and a couple of contacts to them through their page. Has anyone else had a problem signing up with a hotmail account?

Edited to add; Not to worry, apparently I just needed to get a bit ranty and frustrated first. In and on.
