According to HIGNFY, ee-uns of any spelling are an endangered species.

That's because foreigns can't say it.

Mind you, they do a better job of it than Siobhan, Niamh, or (for bonus points) Meadhbh. Admittedly, the latter has given up and writes the Anglicized version.

Rather comical to see that DUP leader Arlene Foster (i.e. royal arselick of the highest order) firstly congratulated the wrong prince, and then after correcting that she spelt Meghan’s name wrong.

I imagine it will go all quiet once she realises that Meghan is Catholic.

Won't that screw up Harrys chances of becoming King?

Assuming he managed to eliminate enough of his rellies to get to next in line anyway.

Looking at recent pictures of this commoner, I thought she looked familiar ...

Turns out the media noticed this a long time ago. Some have called her the Lost 3rd Middleton Sister:

No, there was a rule change a few years ago - Harry can still become king, but Meghan will be called Queen Harry.

Or something like that.

There's a lot of column inches being wasted on the fact that Ms Markle is mixed-race.  Firstly, who cares and secondly, who even noticed?

Surprisingly, no-one vox-popped by the BBC has yet said "so fucking what?"

Standards are slipping.

Will there be a YACF camping weekend?

Just to be clear, another 'not the royal wedding' week end?

I could be persuaded to adjust the timing of the early season Long Itch caper to coincide but I fear that Long Itch is royalist country.

Let's get a date first then mull it over.

Yes, but if you go back much beyond 800 years everyone (European, at least) is pretty much related.

Or 80 years in Swindon.

I'll admit there is a "Swindon face" you see a lot.

Anyway, back on topic, why did we get a day off for Princess Anne's doomed first marriage and not for this one?  I mean, Harry is the cheeky Ron Weasley of the Windsors while Anne is just the dull horsey one.

Tbh, I wouldn't have got Meadhbh on the grounds it looks less of a name and more like a cat stepped on your keyboard.

Incredibly, they're inbreeding as usual!

I love the "let's not forget" headline, as if anybody already knew.  I was born in County Durham, only a few miles from Streatlam and I'd never heard of the Royal Family or America until I moved to Lancashire as an adult.

She was second in line to the thrown at the time. Harry is fifth, going on sixth just now.

And the first of the Windsor siblings to get married. And it was the first Royal Wedding for quite a while before it.

It's a bit of a dysfunctional family though, on one of the siblings is still married to their first spouse
