This news item struck a chord with me. His act of heroism is all the more impressive because he was trained in anti-terrorism and knew the risks better than most. So far beyond the call of duty were his actions that no-one would have even imagined to blame him had he not performed them; the question would not have arisen even in theoretical form. And in our present culture that glorifies self-obsession and lavishly rewards selfishness, his behaviour stands out all the more. Inspirational.
