Different Spoke Holes on Hubs

A mate has given me a set of 20/24h hubs but spoke holes look a bit odd? I take it they are for a specific lacing/ spoke type?

Some wheels use paired spoking, some hubs have 2:1 drive:non-drive spoked rear hubs.
That hole shape is for fairly wide bladed spokes.

normally aero blade slots are cut radially; I'm guessing that the flange isn't deep enough to allow that in this case, hence they are all angled one way.
