Slightly OT:-
One thing that occurred to me while watching the prologue time trial was that despite what looked like drops of rain on the camera, the riders were still shooting round sharp bends with huge amounts of white markings underneath them (wide pedestrian crossings, lane arrows etc.)... I was expecting to see some spills as a result of that but don't recall any in the portion of the program I saw.
I realise these guys are professionals with infinitely better bike handling skills than me and that they have ultra-grippy (tubular) tyres on, but is that really enough to make as significant a difference as that, or are the white lines in Holland painted with something different to those in the UK?
