I've just heard that Mick Andrews died on Saturday 17th April. He collapsed at home and the cause has not yet been established.

Mick was a leading light in the South Kent CTC and a lot of Kentish riders have enjoyed the Hops & Hills and Windmills audaxes which he ran for many years.

I got a phone call to tell me this sad news yesterday evening whilst riding a DIY 300, somewhat appropriate as Mick introduced me to Audax (and the CTC) many years ago.

My first 200 was Mick's Garden of England 200 back in 1990 which started and finished at his house. When riders finished we all settled down to watch the England v Cameroon world cup quarter final (in extra time in my case!).

I have ridden many of Mick's events over the years and have lots of fond memories of them and the excellent hospitality which was always on offer, The Millers Tale, on the hottest day ever in August 2003 was epic!

My thoughts go out to his family at this sad time.
