I'm sure you can get the record for the longest skid, Chief, just need to do it on a MEMWNS night  :demon:

How about coming on a unicycle?

Award only valid if you manage to ride home on it too.
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

Changing the subject slightly and given this is The Only Way Is (mid) Essex thread I can enquire who is around this Sunday?

I have decided to have a go at a SR series next year.  Unbeknown to me the audax season starts on 1st November so "next year" is already here!  I was toying (just toying at this stage) with the idea of doing one of Tomsk's 200 perms.  I have e-mailed him to see whether Sunday is too lastminute.com.  If the toying becomes a reality does anyone else fancy coming along?

Sorry, my window of opportunity is a small one as the girls are off shopping and I don't have to go.

I haven't ridden that far in ages. But there is a small chance I could be tempted.

I don't think I'll have time to grow a beard for it though. What does "SR" stand for anyway? I'm too scared to go to the Audax board to find out...

Super Randonneur, I believe, 200, 300, 400 & 600 in a year, or something like that...

By the way, here it is

In that case we need to do some MEMWNS Mtb Mayhem!!

At some point in the future (seeing as it looks like Lt Waltham this week) we should go to The Viper. The lyrca boys can go on the road and the cool Mtbers can do an almost entirely off road, mostly woodland route.

At night it would be full of awesomeness!

I did it today and it's about a 20 mile round trip from Chelmsford station. In fact, I even knocked up a fully zoomable map so you can have a good look at the route.

Clicky here (takes a while for the map to load)

How many knobbly tyred bicycle owners do we have?

What time is the Witham posse meeting tomorrow night and where?

I'm assuming someone knows the way or should I programme the Garmin so we can get properly lost?

Okay, enough of this long term planning and non-mid week speak..........and I fear I may be falling foul of the no long term planning sub-clause of this thread but, how about this for the Witham peleton tomorrow night, unless a longer outbound route is desired.
The longer route still includes the obligatory NH but also encompasses a warm up climb in to Wickham Bishops.
Both routes take in Hurrells Lane ford on the way and Terling ford on the return leg for customary transfer of fluids under the cover of darkness.  :demon:

Usual 19:30ish departure but meeting place TBA depending upon out route selected  :D
