Off on a CTC family holiday near Cherbourg in August and had originally booked some sensible ferry times - before Brittany Ferries withdrew the boat we were due to sail on
. The upshot is that to avoid driving "down South" through the night I would be grateful for hints and tips re either a reasonable value B&B near Poole, if possible somewhere where we could leave the car and ride to the ferry port.
An alternative would be to change ferry times if anyone had local knowledge about how to make connections between Poole and Portsmouth with two bikes, one tandem and luggage. Small child involved so riding 50 miles is not an option.
