Just back from seeing TG off at the TT; quite a good turn-out of forum types braving the wind to stand in a muddy lay-by talking rubbish.  LWaB, Judith, richforrest, mattc, PeterM, swiss hat, Oranj and possibly one or two others.  Also Drew Buck, one of few people to get close to Steve in being bonkers.  The lad seems in good spirits and was last seen heading off at a great rate with a stiff tailwind.  LWAB and mattc were last seen heading for an Pubbe.  I have a few pictures, which I will post once I can be bothered to get my camera from the kitchen.

a special day for me today - firstly to see Steve off into his mind-boggling challenge, secondly - to ride my first time trial. it's possibly the longest distance i would ever cycle to 10mile tt (87km out, same back, but made couple of detours to extend it to 200k). i think i overdid it on tt as my left knee is clicking and painful now, hopefully the poor student will sort it out.

A short write up of part of today's escapade plus some photos.  The one of Steve and Drew Buck has appeared in the Bike Biz write up - we live in exciting times.

Well the trackleader web site says 205 miles which is what I've been following all day.

I guess UMCA are taking the GPS log file as definitive which Strava's displaying. Any idea how accurate Strava's numbers are?

To tell you the truth Wobbers, I have no idea which numbers UMCA are using.  I just like the bigger ones.   :)

Judith Swallow explained this anomaly succinctly on faceache: "The Spot tracker works at long intervals. The GPS at shorter ones. So when the dots are joined up you get less."
