Dear Mrs Miles,

I do hope this is not presumptuous but I wonder if you could advise me since I notice that you are very 'experienced'.

I have  persistent problem with blisters on my 'undercarriage' this becomes most noticeable when things become damp with due to rain or the accumulation of bodily secretions in warmer weather.  I have tried various unctions and even asked Cycling Mummy if she could rub some in to see if her magic touch could restore the area...she refused feeling this was best self administered.

Expensive but slicker than .... than.... something very slippery indeed.
The problem is then holding the handlebars (or indeed anything else) with the hand that you applied it with.

I bought a tube of that on the return leg of PBP in 2007!

It was good stuff and did the job.

Easily solved by employing the applicatory services of a Random Passerby. I've heard the French are fairly approachable...

I can confirm a lack of nasty residue - on palms or clothes - and that I can maintain an effective firm grip after use.

For the true retroist, you could follow Tommy Godwin's example and take to wearing a pair of finest silk ladies' undercrackers.

The true gentleman would, of course, ensure their utmost cleanliness before returning said undercrackers to the finest silk ladies.

Also recommended by Bill Shatner for any horsey scenes.

What's it like round the back though?

(I also use Conotrane. Better than Sudocreme, which is akin to getting waxed if you have hirsute hindquarters.  Conotrane is "behind the counter" rather than on the shelf.  Ask the pharmacist).

I am disappointed by the serious and worthy tone of replies. I opened this thread hoping for a string of smutty innuendo laden schoolboy 'humour' and instead find suggestions for management of chafing.
Come on chaps this is not really in the spirit of mrs miles is it?

Dear Mrs Miles,

I am having trouble with the wind. It is making cycling to and from work difficult. What should I do to relieve myself of the problem?
