Ivan's tracker does take you up some surprising blind alleys at times even though it is generally my preferred tracker until Strava is uploaded.

Not showing any longer on Ivan's tracker, so best to ignore that little imaginary 'detour'.

Has to be a routing artefact, there are no tracker points up there.

Not a nice junction to cross, that. There aren't really any nice places to cross the A505 in that area.

I don't mind that crossing- the sightlines aren't too bad and it's often the one I use- crossing the A505 to the East of Royston is easier than to the West.
