The tracker says 199 miles. That's normally a Godwin.

Good to see, Steve. Hopefully we'll see you knock out something close to a Godwin tomorrow too.

An hour later Steve's on the A11 (rather he than me) near Snetterton, which Google Maps says is about 35 miles from Acle - so a midnight finish and a splendid number of miles looks to be the order of the day.

I saw that too - it's fair bit busier than the 'orrible A420 & A40 round here; getting late now tho.

Go Steve!

I hope the 257 Ivan-miles isn't a misprint :o

The tracker was certainly yo-yo ing around earlier this evening, with its commonly vaunted tracks off line, unless Steve felt a loop to Bury St Edmonds was an essential part of getting to Acle? A total of 257 miles would be a satisfying end to a long day, but we shall just have to wait and see.

233, according to Strava. Excellent work! Steve's comment: "Finally got some payback for all the headwinds I have fought."

That's really good news. It also suggests that he is settling down with the new diet as it was a long day without a drop in average speed nor the need recovery stops towards the end.

The 5th was tailwind assisted and the 6th is going to be low distance, due to the late start.

Steve has suggested that the late start was to enable a late finish.  Midnight plus?
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Today looks like today might be about 160, which would give an average of 180 for the last 3 days (a little bit less than his January average of 185). If he can manage 190 today that would be useful.

Any more info on the FB report of Steve being stopped by the police 'for cycling on an A road'? The A11 I'd assume.

Reminds me of the tale of AUK mile eater supremo Pat Kenny getting stopped riding on the motorway within the roadworks. After a typical altercation with the boys in blue they informed him that the roadworks whilst not technically motorway, were under the control of the site manager and they would have to report his presence to him..........

He was however the site manager.

Don't know how true it is, but made a nice story  ;D

It was true. I worked with Pat for 5 years just after the turn of the century. He was mostly on site and I was mostly in the office.
