fwiw, camelback water bottles are not fit for purpose when your hands are cold. i could give enough squeeze with one hand on bcm600, so reached menai bridge cold and dehydrated. (i could've stopped and used my both hands or while riding no hands, but at the time was thinking "it's only an hour or so left until control")

I used my new string vest* on Sunday and it seemed to do a good job in keeping the moisture away from me. I wore it under a thin merino top, 3/4 bibs, a winter weight top and a wind proof jacket. All were LS.
I took a thin top off when I got to the start 'cos I was getting too warm.
At the mid-point cafe I took off most of my layers and spread them out to try to dry them off as much as possible.

The kit worked because I managed to stay warm enough all day.

I'm very pleased with the vest.
