I considered N Hill (just the once) but then opted against it due to the mileage and not knowing the protocol as yet in what would be an acceptable distance/riding time  :)

The protocol is that every ride out of Witham has to go via TMNH!
Usually about 90 minutes to refreshments and roughly an hour home, although that is highly flexible  :P

That Dear Doggers is entirely up to you bearing this quote in mind:
I think the time has come for some of the newer members of our little group to perhaps take the lead in suggesting where we go and how we get there.

In that case Huggy, I will plead ignorance of TMNH rule when plotting my maiden route and stick with what we have got! Next time however I will insure TMNH is part of any route plotted.....

Looks like only a train issue can save me from a ride tomorrow.

I will be heading home to pick up the Road Bike (with lovely new Mudguards) from Witham so will either see  you en route or at The Hoop. I will cut over to North Hill through Wickham Bishops so might bump into you around there.

New wheels and Mudguards....nearly like a new bike!

Tippers, you are aware that Dogger's route doesn't actually go up the classic North Hill route aren't you?
Be good to take in the glory of the new wheels

This is the intended route for this evening as far as I know - Doggers is leading us out.

Given OD's resistance to returning home via any route that goes North of Chelmsford a more direct route back to the environs of Witham may well be taken  ::-)

I believe that Oaky is safely on another continent still this week  :P

Huggy what is OD's aversion to travelling north of Chelmsford on the way home?

Experience shows that he quite likes navigating the night streets of Chelmsford affording a more direct route home.

OK, great....it looks like we give North Hill a good swerve.....nice work! hopefully all going well I can hook up with you next to the A12 at Boreham (I'd hate to go near Hurrells Lane alone) I'll drop a text when I leave home.

You're safe this week - at the relevant time, I will be in a bar 6009km away from the Hoop (as the crow flies, assuming a very fit crow who knows about great circle routes)
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

An enjoyable evening last night at The Hoop in Stock with Huggy, Oscars dad, Oros, Tomsk and Tippers Kiwi. The Dorset Knob went down rather well (no pun intended).
For further info it was lucky we followed Huggy's Garmin on the way home as mine had us travelling down another private road to get to Margaretting!!!!!

A good night up until.......Funny how badgers came up in conversation.....

I met one last night shortly after leaving Stock, and not in a nice way! Straight out of the hedge and under my wheels it went - result: cut to forehead above right eye, grazes all down my right: to head, elbow, knee, with lesser abrasions to back, shoulder, shin, left thumb....I guess at least I somehow managed to spread the force of the impact around.

After checking myself and the bike over [both needed straightening up a bit] and not feeling concussed I decided to continue.....thought about swinging by A&E at Broomfield, but just wanted to get home.

Not looking too much like the Elephant Man this morning, but popping maximum vitamin I. Top marks for the Alpe d'Huez cap - all traces of blood gone, even with a 30 degree wash

First 'off' since my 'sympathy stack' with Chief after leaving the Square and Compasses, in the snow, about three years ago.....
