Not sure what time I'll get away tonight.  If I'm able to escape early enough I'll swing by the Spa Road rbt at 19h30 to see if there is anyone else there, but don't wait for me - I may be late.
but where are you riding to, East or West?
If I'm not at the roundabout for 7:30 which is unlikely I'll try to get to The Compasses for about 9 via the direct route, probably leaving home about 8-ish

Compasses - I won't be going via Spa Rd now...   Will also aim for 21h00ish.

In the end I was in fact at Spa Rd for 7:30, however no one else was.
I enjoyed a solo steady quiet ride over. I now have a pint in front of me 🍺👍

Oh dear, I've just read ted's account of last night too. You lot can't be trusted by yourselves. Did anyone else turn up at The Compasses?

By the way I'm claiming last night as a Forward Planning success, I'm still winning  ;D

Don't worry, I should be back next week, all will be well, like The Donald I'm A Unifier.

The Forward Planning scores: 5-2 in the favour of Forward Planning

Last night was a draw  ;D

Rulz ...

For Forward Planning to be declared a success some members of the MEMWNS massive need to turn up and order drinks (they need not be alcoholic) from the target pub suggested by Forward Planning for that week.  The fact that other members of the MEMWNS massive choose to visit another pub is irrelevant.

Thus last night was a win not a draw.

This Wednesday we can go to Tomsk's local The Angel & Harp, Dunmow if we want to.  Assuming we do want to here's A ROUTE for the Witham peloton.

Love 'un' stuff.

^ Typical Mid-Essex small-toothed saw-profile. Every whichway out of the town is a climb of sorts.

I'll aim to intercept the peloton at some point beyond Felsted - must remember not to go via the beetles at Gt Leighs :o

All things being well I'll be at the Spa Rd roundabout for 7:30pm
(and if I remember it I'll have an entry form for the Stansted Airport Express in the saddle bag)

I will not be heading to the wild west.  I will be on a short solo ride to make sure I have put my bike back together again properly

Well tonight will be different - hooray!

I can't make next week (work  >:(  ) which is annoying as I really wanted to re-visit the Royal Oak at Hazeleigh.  It was a bit shite when we first went there in February 2013 but judging by their Facebook page its come a long way since then.  I hope you lot go next week to see what it's like now.

FYI the Onley Arms in Stisted is now reopen and the Terling Inn will be reopening on the 1st Dec in case you fancied visiting either of these establishments
Ps Ted might even visit Terling as it's closer than the spiritual home

I won't be out tonight....still too much going on at work to have really late night.

Ted, I am thinking about popping down to the Compasses or the Red Dog this evening for a chat to the landlords about January goings on. Ted,how are those for your intended distance?
