What are most common uses of a knife?

Err cutting stuff. Any other use and you are pressing it into service as something its not.
The butter knife is a weird one though as although we call it a knife it isnt as it has no edge at all. In reality its a spreader. Same for teh pallette knife which is just an overgrown butter knife. In fact I shall start a campaign to have these two renamed.

Further offences may result in stab injuries or decapitation, for which some knives are ideally suited.
