Submissions for YACF calendar
« on: 05 October, 2008, 12:37:46 am »
I'm thinking of trying to produce a YACF 2009 desktop picture/calendar for members to download, so I need all you creative peeps to have a look through your best cycling pics, or get out there and take something arty.

To make it easier we'll split it into Winter (December-February), Spring (March-May), Summer (June-August) and Autumn (September-November) so post your pictures here with a clear indication of which season you think it fits best with. If we get enough submissions I'll pick the best of the best and we'll maybe have a vote at the beginning of next month to pick the best 3 for each season.

Rules are:
1: It should be your picture and have the permission of any recognisable forumers in it (general members of the public are fair game).
2: Must be in landscape format.
3: It should be cycling related (no generic landscapes that you've spotted on your travels, unless there's a cyclist or bike in there somewhere)
4: Posting small pics here for ease of viewing is preffered, but make sure I can get a copy at a high resolution (3mp+ preferable) for the finished articles.
5: Should be at least loosely related to the month (or season) in question.

All photographers would be credited on their image. I'll do each set in the 3 largest aspect ratios/sizes, 1920x1200 (widescreen), 1600x1200 (4:3) and 1280x1024 (5:4) which should cover just about everyone.

Off you go!

It's not a photographic masterpiece, but surely we must have a Dun Run photo for July?

There's also this one, which I quite like (they're the cooling intake platforms for Sizewell).

I nominate chillmoister's piccie below.

It sums up what I like most about cycling.  Not Audaxing, not Racing but pootling along perfect country lanes, carrying what you need, good company, no time pressures (and ending up at Youth Hostel which doubled as a Pub with a real fire for the night) and most importantly, it has me in it.

Note.  Photobucket is having problems right now.

Aidan,

You're welcome to use my picture above, on an old SS in Argentina, if required.

I'd like to nominate these two, surprisingly, both with my folder in:

Frenchie - Train à Grande Vitesse

Can we have a utility/commuter/cyclechic one too, please. All this sporty stuff makes me feel inadequate.

Spring (though difficult to get permissions now!)

The permission rule was really just to make sure that any forum members included in the pics were happy for them to be used. I reckon general members of the public are fair game.

What a great idea.  I prefer the action shots, though that rules out all of the following.

Touring in spring:

And summer:

A wintry one (actually taken in April):
