If you put co2 as one of your tags then it takes it into account. I never bother

How does one find the code for ones 'status', as per Auntie Helen's sig?
There's a post on CycleChat about this:

http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/how-do-i-get-a-mycyclinglog-ticker-in-my-signature.91272/#post-1633543

You just need to check the gid (group ID) of someone here for the YACF team ID.
I can't read that CycleChat thread as I don't have an account there. I'd be grateful if someone could explain it here.

Here you go.

First of all, you'll need to register at MyCyclingLog:
http://www.mycyclinglog.com/register.php

Then you'll need to join the CycleChat group:
http://www.mycyclinglog.com/group_view.php?gid=528 (click the Request Membership link)

Once you've done that you'll need to add your ticker details to your signature here at CycleChat.

Click on your user account drop-down menu (top right) and select Signature (or click here: http://www.cyclechat.net/account/signature)

Then copy and paste the following code into a plain text editor (like Notepad.exe on your PC) and then copy and paste it into your signature box (if you just do a straight copy from this thread it adds a lot of junk formatting in and won't display properly!!):
PHP:

... making sure to replace USERNAME and 000000 with your MyCyclingLog username and your own personal mileage goal.

If you have any problems getting your signature working, just post in the support forum and I'll do my best to help. Please note that the ticker only interrogates the MyCyclingLog system every hour or so and therefore won't immediately update your progress after you log.

Cheers,
Shaun

Please note that this ticker is provided by Lock from the Bicycle Victoria forums (www.bv.com.au) and he's kindly shared it with people from CycleChat/YACF as part of the friendly mileage rivalry between us.

Thanks, AH, but it's not working for me. I'm not sure if I've done something wrong, or if it's just as Andrij mentioned that I've not been on MCL long enough (just signed up today).

You need image tags around it, I guess.

IMAGE TAG http://locksrandomwebservices.appspot.com/MyCyclingLogProgress?user=Feline&gid=598&goal=5000&units=mi CLOSE IMAGE TAG

Substitute 'Feline' with your own Mycyclinglog name and 5000 with whatever your goal is.
This works so long as you are in the yacf user group.

I'm trying to put one in my Cyclechat sig, but it didn't work.  I'll try over here.  Thanks, Feline :)

Thanks, it hadn't occurred to me it would need image tags.  ::-) That's the third stupid thing I've done today, my brain isn't working very well for some reason. Need more sleep probably.  :-[ Looks like the data has to be updated and then I'll have my own ticker.  :)

Yay!  Mine's working.  And, thanks to the advice from Feline et al, I managed to sort out my CC sig as well :)

Great. Have been wondering how to do this for ages. Cribbed your code Feline, thanks very much.

That's got it, once I'd remembered square brackets. I'm not setting a goal, but as I've yet to get out this year the idea of progress is moot.

OK. I'm struggling.  Where do I need to put the square brackets?  I tried copying Feline's code but it didn't work.

where you have written IMAGE TAG you need to replace the front one with
Code: [Select]
[img] and the end one with
Code: [Select]
[/img]
you should end up with: -
Code: [Select]

At start: Square bracket IMG square bracket close

Don't panic, the ticker is being updated less often than it used to be so it can take a few hours for the results to show. Wait for then next update and it should be there.

I've noticed something odd about the site. I've put two rides into it so far, one of 62km and one of 57km. And yet it's giving my total distance as 117km. Can anyone explain this?

The password for yacf on mycyclinglog is: 982701
(the search on the forum kind of works)

This.  And yes, I'm admin on it.  Sorry missed this thread as not been following so much recently.

In the interests of disclosure, if you apply to join the group it sends me your full name (assuming you gave it) and email address as well as just your screen name.  I've been deleting those emails after accepting.

Must start putting my rides on it again...

Your total distance looks like 119.00km from here.  Clear cache?
