I saw Steve today at about 10:30, heading East into the wind and up a long drag. I didn't have time to shout at him (encouragement) as I was driving the other way and only caught sight of him as cars overtook him. In the seconds that i could see him, he looked, well, knackered with a slow cadence. I don't know Steve's riding style so this could be just typical given the headwind and slope he was riding and had ridden up!
