Yes: I'm ECE'ing it to 200 from Cambridge

Long-range forecast is looking okay — dry at least, Beeb says breezy but the Norwegians disagree.  It should be fun  :)
Lockdown lethargy. RRTY: wot's that? Can't remember if I'm on #8 or #9 ...

Yes, just the 100km, no ECE. Looking forward to it.

How does one spot YACF folk - is there a secret handshake or something?

If I do it I will ece from Milton Keynes. I've never done a 50km event, so might do that one for the rectangular 50km medal.

Yes.  Just the run.  No ECE, despite living 51km away from the start.

My first , so just the 100 for me nav being the main challenge vs just pottering close to home.

The yacf jersey will be well buried under the layers...could dig out the yacf PBP nameplate?

I'm definitely not doing it in the buff if its anywhere near as cold as today.

I should be out with my minder if I pass the MOT on Friday.
A few irregularities to sort out first,
Should be good to go though.

bahaha.... ;D Me either.

If you hear a watered down Kiwi accent, (probably talking too much) and getting grief about my tubeless tyres that will be me.

I'll be on my Croix De Fer with the Carradice on the back....which will probably narrow it down a lot less that the above!

We're forecast quite a warm day, although a bit of a breeze, so I probably won't be in the Buff either.  Black fixie, Carradice.  And I wear a lot of red at this time of year.

And the secret handshake, of course.

To fix or not to fix that is the question.

I have stupidly agreed to Tippers_Kiwi's ECE escapade which makes the geared option tempting if I have to keep up with him there and back at least. Added to that, I already have my fixed SR 200 in the bag from Tomsk's massed DTDO perm in January. On the other hand it seems a shame not to...

For reference, I will be the one puffing away at the back and cursing under what is left of his breath and most certainly not in the buff.

I'll be there on an ECE from my step-brother's in Sudbury.

Also, first audax for my shiny new Equilibrium 20 from Edinburgh Bike Co-op!

I'm hoping the track to the hut isn't as muddy as last year.

Old Giant SCR 3, fully mudguarded wih a nice Ultegra triple.

Big Topeak wedge on the back, probably also wearing red or a silver OMM jacket, definitely wearing a beard

I'll also be looking confusedly at maps and instructions I expect.

Old unshiny equilibrium, tan brooks swift.

If weather is forecast to be milder then most certainly not in the buff.

As long as my legs are working I'll be ECE from Chelmsford via Great Leighs to meet up with the rest of the mid-essex chapter ECE bunch...

White CdF with yellow Ortlieb bar bag, due to my lack of ability to pace, I'll be at the front at the start and the back after the first 50km LOL

Black n'red Day One disc fixie. Old AUK clichés: Righteously long red rear mudflap for saintly towing duties on skoggy lanes, B17, Carradice Barley [of course] - the sandals will probably be staying at home for a month or two though.

Forcing flyers for my events on unsuspecting riders at the 'Ut.

Excellent Jack, now you can be a proper member of mid-Essex Team Genesis.  I will be on my Flyer, Tomsk on his Day One and Jiber and Tippers on their Croix de Fers (Croisses de Fer ?).  Hopefully we can form the usual peloton at some point in the ride and you can tow me back to Arrivee.

I'm too new to this to be a cliché. Hang on; Walomatic Enterprises Inc long rear mudflap -check, B17 - check, Carradice - check, stupid additional miles - check, steel frame - check, spd pedals - check, riding 200km in February - check...  At least I don't have SPD sandals  ;D

Walomatic Enterprises Inc is our very own Bobb.  He has become so hacked off with the lack of long mudguards that he has taken to making them and then giving them to us with the appropriate nuts and bolts and instructions.  Then again, he is a grumpy sod and he would do anything to avoid having to go on the front  ;D

Speaking of ECE Escapades.....the ride starts at 9am.

50km ECE + a bit of Coffee and Cake time I am thinking of leaving Tiptree somewhere around 6 - 6:15am.

It looks like it is going to be breezy but I guess we'll have the wind behind at some stage. I intend to work a bit harder on the ride and then relax on the inward part of the ECE.....but we will see what happens, depends how much punishment Oscars Dad dishes out on his Clacton trip on Saturday I guess.
